There are some Myths & Facts regarding the application process
1-The United States & Canada
For most North American Universities or Colleges, online application forms are available on each university’s website. Applicants have to answer all the compulsory questions and will also have to write one or two essays (personal statement) in which they have to raise the points that make them stand out from other applicants, explain their professional aspirations, and how their paths tie to the university’s mission. One (or two) reference letter is also required to support an application.
Applicants who come from countries where English is not the official language will be required to take the TOEFL or the IELTS. Please refer to our page “Study Abroad” for more information regarding the English proficiency test. These 2 tests measure your ability to use and understand English at the university level. And it evaluates how well you combine your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks. The test can be taken after you have applied.
2-The United Kingdom
To study in the UK, most applications have to be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). Applicants have to fill up an online registration form which the Admissions Service will transfer to your chosen universities. As for the United States and Canada, you will be required to write an essay (Personal Statement) in which you have to raise the different points that make you stand out from other applicants, explain your professional aspirations, and how your paths tie to the university’s mission. 1-What you need to know
After you have received the University or College Acceptance letter, you can now apply for a Student Visa from the nearest Embassy of the country where you will be studying.
Here are the most important steps to complete your application:
- Fill up an online application form
- Make a payment to submit your application (Application Fees)
Submit at the Embassy:
- Your Valid Passport(s)
- 2 Photographs
- The University or College Acceptance Letter
- Proof of Qualifications (Translated by a professional translator)
- Evidence of funds. This must show that you have enough money to support yourself and pay for your course
- TB Screening: In some countries, you must also show that you have been screened for tuberculosis (TB).
